SAS currently employs a variety of artisan trades. It is should be noted that the availability and competency of these skilled personnel is critical to the success of. Currently there is no clear understanding in regards to the availability of the required skills within. Thus the capacity of skills in is not clear i.e. the man-hours that are currently available to accomplish work packages per project.
An in-depth understanding of the artisan skills database will provide HR with the information required to make decisions to employ or contract skilled artisans per trade, as well as additional training needs and succession planning. Production managers will also have the tools to plan re-allocation of personnel to ensure that key production targets are achieved
